By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2012-06-27 16:09:05 CDT
The kate find/replace confirmation dialog is always centered in the screen. Often the dialog covers the text being confirmed and the user has to manually move the dialog to confirm whether to replace the text.

The dialog should place itself intelligently not cover the text in question.

Note to Calvin,

This is one of those bugs, like the mouse wheel cycling crap, that is utterly irritating. Would be nice if this could receive attention for R14. :-)
Comment 2 Calvin Morrison 2012-12-03 19:45:44 CST
Would it be preferable for it to "remember" where it was previously pop-up'd?
Comment 3 Darrell 2012-12-03 20:05:12 CST
My thinking: Keep the dialog stationary but scroll the text upward such that the highlighted (found) text is always a few lines above the dialog. That would require "remembering" the original scroll location so when the dialog is closed the file and cursor are restored to the same exact location before starting the process.

FYI: KDE4 has this option. The problem is resolved by using a fixed dialog at the bottom of the screen, much like Firefox. Nice. Perhaps some code snippets can be massaged from KDE4.

Changing to enhancement request.

Changing status back to NEW for too long inactivity
