Works under 3.5.13.1 Too bad it needs administrator privileges to change anything :/ (In reply to comment #1) > Works under 3.5.13.1 > > Too bad it needs administrator privileges to change anything :/ Any configuration set in that module takes effect system wide, meaning that it will be set on first power-up as soon as KDM loads. That is why only an administrator can alter the display layout in that module; the normal UNIX way of doing things is to disallow a normal user from changing global system settings. Yes, I am aware of that. Nevertheless I think its a deficiency of linux to require root privileges for daily tasks on a desktop computer (see: https://plus.google.com/+LinusTorvalds/posts/1vyfmNCYpi5 ). I guess I shouldn't blame Trinity BUT there are programs that allow to modify display settings for the current session (e.g. enable second monitor), without saving settings to xorg.conf (In reply to comment #3) > I guess I shouldn't > blame Trinity BUT there are programs that allow to modify display settings for > the current session (e.g. enable second monitor), without saving settings to > xorg.conf Sounds like a good enhancement request bug report. :-) Tim |
