By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Too small number on KMail icon

When I select tray icons to have 16x16 size, the numbers displayed on KMail icons denoting the number of unread mails are too small (see attachment). The same happens with Akregator. In KDE3 I used on OpenSUSE these numbers where scaled to become bigger (relative to the icon size). As a result the numbers were big enough to be read easily. I think this should be improved.
Comment 1 Timothy Pearson 2012-10-01 14:03:59 CDT
On OpenSUSE is the kmail tray icon itself clipped on the edges at sizes < 22x22? I ask because, on digging through the OpenSUSE KDE3 source, it appears that the KDE3 maintainer backported part of the tray icon size code from Trinity, but did not backport all of it.

This bug should be fixed by forcing KMail/Akregator to a fixed-size font equal to the height of the tray icon when the tray icon is set to anything less than 22x22 pixels in size. The relevant code is in kmsystemtray.cpp (KMSystemTray::updateCount) for kmail and trayicon.cpp (TrayIcon::slotSetUnread) for akregator

The tray icon in KDE3 on openSUSE is not clipped. The font is just bigger when the icon is small.

Good to know, thanks!

Changing to normal bug report because the Op tagged this as a regression.
Comment 5 Timothy Pearson 2013-06-23 02:20:31 CDT
This should be resolved in GIT hash 5f8b00b (tdepim). If the new font size for icon sizes < 22 pixels is satisfactory (i.e. legible), please close this report as RESOLVED FIXED.

Thanks for reporting!
Comment 6 Jan Stolarek 2013-06-23 04:07:57 CDT
Thanks. Would it be possible to attach a screenshot of the new font?

Please see attached screenshot. Note that the font size will still reduce as needed to fit in the horizontal space, and that the font size is only increased for icon sizes less than the standard 22 pixels.
Comment 8 Jan Stolarek 2013-06-23 14:17:59 CDT
Looks big enough (perhaps slightly to big?). Would it be possible to allow user to control font sizes in the tray?
Comment 9 Darrell 2013-08-14 23:46:20 CDT
Is this report resolved?
Comment 10 Jan Stolarek 2013-08-15 12:22:42 CDT
It is, but it would be nice if user could control the font size (perhaps choose from some pre-selected set of values).
Comment 11 Darrell 2013-08-15 13:51:56 CDT
Perhaps file an enhancement request, referencing this bug report?
Comment 12 Jan Stolarek 2013-08-15 14:37:39 CDT
I'll see how this works in practice (haven't upgraded yet) and consider filling enhancement request.
