By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description dzsabor 2008-12-16 11:42:34 CST
Hi!

I'm not sure whether this is a bug for kde3 or piklab. I'm submitting here because maybe kdelibs4c2a-kde3 should Provide (?) kdelibs4c2a.

I've the -kde3 packages installed, when I try to install piklab:

# apt-get install piklab
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
piklab: Depends: kdelibs4c2a (>= 4:3.5.8-1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

Regards,
Gabor

Thank you for your report.

In the future, please append the missing package name to bug #7 in a comment. I will leave bug #7 open until all KDE3 packages are properly recompiled.

Incidentally, piklab-kde3 is now available.

I installed piklab-kde3 (thanks! :) ) but I received the following error message when trying to start it:

$ piklab
piklab: error while loading shared libraries: libktexteditor.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

libktexteditor.so.0 is part of package kdelibs4c2a-kde3, but resides in /usr/kde3/lib/ which is not known to ld.so by default.

I added kde3.conf under /etc/ld.so.conf.d/ containig the only line "/usr/kde3/lib/|, ran ldconfig and now piklab works fine.

I guess this ld.so conf file should be part of the kdelibs4c2a-kde3 package.
