What is the issue/enhancement required here? tderandr seems to work fine, respond to events and provide notifications. Is this report still valid? One of the key features of kde3 was a unified system notification framework. Any key event can be annotated with sound, logged, or trigger a script. Script trigger provided user with the the possibility to greatly expand default behavior and cover exotic use-cases or cover up for bugs. In order to see what I'm talking about, please launch TDE control center, and go "Sound & Multimedia -> System Notifications". What I'd like to see in tderandr, is exposed event hooks for changes in screen size, orientation, resolution, outputs. I'm a little bit hazy on full extent of things I wanted to put in my hooks in 2013, but one thing that is still relevant is a restart of a certain apps, that do not cope well with primary output size/orientation changes. |
