A fix has been uploaded to Trinity SVN in revision 1107501. Automatically built packages for Lucid will be generated within a couple of days; if the bug is still present at that time (or if you see broken functionality) please reopen this bug report. Thanks for reporting! Was forced to revert patch due to instability. I am also not certain that the behaviour you describe is actually a bug in Kopete; from what I can tell MSN makes avatars available to the user and those are what are being downloaded. Also as far as I can tell, they should only be deleted on Kopete close. It wouldn't be a bug to download pictures and I wouldn't really care if it were just leaving temporary files there. The problem is that kopete keeps all temporary files open and runs out of file descriptors after a few days of running. After that it behaves erratically, not displaying icons, not formatting chats (instead it displays some CSS in the chat window) and such, until I restart it. Thanks for the detail; now I understand the problem better. I will revisit this bug when I have more time to analyse it properly. Is this report still valid? MSN protocol no longer exit and there is no longer any support in Kopete. I believe it is ok to close this bug. Feel free to reopen it if you think otherwise, and explain why. |
