Just a quick question: to any of our visually impaired users, does this change make it harder to use TDE, easier to use TDE, or is there no effect? Thanks! Hi, It was already blue before the change, so I guess that it is just a slight change in the tone of blue. I'll look if it is possible to make the text ''glow'' like the title. Thanks! -ALexandre Created attachment 1488 [details]

TDEUI modification with glow on text (v2)
In this version, text has a lighter blue glow, which improves readability.

(In reply to comment #5) > Created attachment 1488 [details] > TDEUI with glow on text to improve readability(v2) Personally I think this decreases readability instead of increasing it (by increasing the amount of background clutter the mind has to filter out). Other opinions are of course welcome! Created attachment 1490 [details]

TDEUI modification with white text, but without glow on text (v3)
This one has white text, but without glow on it!
At this point, it's just a matter of choice :)

Is there any plan to make it part of TDE one day? It would be really sad to see that TDE is going to stay frozen in 2005 forever... Just my opinion... -Alexandre (In reply to comment #10) > Is there any plan to make it part of TDE one day? > > It would be really sad to see that TDE is going to stay frozen in 2005 > forever... > > Just my opinion... > > -Alexandre What do you mean frozen in 2005? Adding gradients to everything is part of what made KDE4 so hard on the eyes/difficult to use. :-) I guess what I am asking is: what is so dated about clean lines and clear text? Tim Hi, Do you have an idea of how could it be improved, to get it in R14? It would be a nice little touch, making it softer. -Alexandre I had to open old and new images in a picture-compare program to spot the differences. To be the existing version is fine.... Just my 2 cents. Hi, You can look at the 2 first attachment pictures: new TDEUI screenshot and old TDEUI screenshot. The other ones are just proposed options. I'll use it in my next PCLinuxOS remaster. -Alexandre Alex, TDE style already changed (thanks for the effort back in 2014 by the way). Is this bug still relevant or can it be closed now? Anyhow it would need rework since the colors are different. |
