By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

This only happens under specific circumstances. Installation of KDE3 over Kubuntu always works (if you want KDE3 while this bug is still being fixed)

Uploaded a fixed package. Please test and make sure that it fixes this bug on your systems.

You may need to completely remove the old package (4:2.5.1-3ubuntu2) before attempting to install this one (4:2.5.1-3ubuntu3). These commands will do that for you:
sudo dpkg -r --force-all kdesudo-kde3
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kdesudo-kde3

Also encountering this bug here. Completely removing the previous version with dpkg -r (or even -P, and also for kdebase-kde3-bin) using the commands above does not solve the problem.

Maybe you can add the following to preinst?
dpkg-divert --package kdesudo-kde3 \
 --divert /usr/share/man/man1/kdesu-kde3.1-distrib.gz \
 --rename /usr/share/man/man1/kdesu-kde3.1.gz

Comment 5 Stefan Endrullis 2008-12-19 12:20:33 CST
I get the same error now.
Comment 6 Stefan Endrullis 2008-12-19 12:24:14 CST
I mean I get the same error as Wouter Deconinck when I try to reinstall the package.
Comment 7 Timothy Pearson 2008-12-19 12:49:40 CST
I apologize for the problem; when attempting to fix the intermittent problem I introduced a different, more serious one. The fix is being built on the PPA as I type this--look for version 4:2.5.1-3ubuntu6 to become available.
Comment 8 Wouter Deconinck 2008-12-19 13:08:03 CST
Confirmed working with 4:2.5.1-3ubuntu6. Thanks a lot!
Comment 9 Stefan Endrullis 2008-12-19 13:16:42 CST
Yeah, it works! Thanks a lot!
