By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2013-11-18 20:43:17 CST
This error/warning message was first reported in bug 1655. To facilitate tracking and debugging, this message has been moved to this new report.

As reported in bug 1655, This message could be generated by other triggers but here is one repeatable trigger.

This particular trigger could be related to bug 1382.

I can trigger the ERROR message only during the initial start of my Trinity session. Toggling the check box during the session has no effect on my system.

To view the message:

* "Right-click" on the desktop.

* From the popup menu select Configure Desktop.

* Select Behavior->Device Icons.

* Disable Show Device Icons.

* Restart the Trinity session.

* Open Konsole and run: tail -f ~/.xsession-errors

* Enable Show Device Icons.

* Watch the Konsole output.

Which device icons are enabled makes no difference on my system. I disabled all of them and saw the same result.

Another method to trigger this message:

* Open Konsole.
* Run tail -f ~/.xsession-errors.
* Insert a USB flash drive.
Comment 2 Darrell 2013-11-19 20:38:35 CST
>Insert a USB flash drive.
Probably can change that to connect any USB device. I can trigger the same message when connecting my ebook reader via USB, as reported in bug 1726.
Comment 3 Darrell 2013-12-11 11:24:59 CST
This message also appears with the bug reported in bug 1764.
Comment 4 Darrell 2013-12-28 17:36:48 CST
Using the latest patches, and using either of the methods described, I see the following message:

tdeio (TDEIOConnection): ERROR: Could not write data (pid 2351 process "nit] media /dev/shm/tdesocket-root/tdelauncherhOE")

I hope that is useful.
Comment 5 Darrell 2014-03-02 20:38:08 CST
The message in comment 4 appears every time I log into Trinity, regardless of user, and regardless of starting X from the command line or TDM.
