Proposal for: -applications/knetworkmanager8 -applications/kpowersave Reason: AFAIK, replaced by -applications/tdenetworkmanager -applications/tdepowersave Background: knetworkmanager8 - tdenetworkmanager: systray applet for controlling network connections kpowersave - tdepowersave: systray applet for controlling power management Proposal for cleaning up the Ubuntu folders in the packaging git repo. In particular: - lucid_automake - maverick_automake - kdegraphics.automake (in most Ubuntu distro folders. Also package renamed to tdegraphics) - kdevelop.cmake (in most Ubuntu distro folders. Also package renamed to tdevelop) Reason: are those distros/folders still needed/used? In comparison, Debian distro folders are much neater. Correction: -applications/knetworkmanager8 still needed until support for NM0.8 is added to tdehw-lib. See http://trinity-devel.pearsoncomputing.net/?0::12085 for details Correction: kpowersave still theoretically needed. See details here http://trinity-devel.pearsoncomputing.net/?0::12764 tde-construct (old Kconstruct) is another package consider removing. It is an old meta-build package that advertises the ability to automatically download all sources and build TDE for you with just: "cd meta/kde;make install" By default "Konstruct" installs to ~/trinity.5.7/ which means you don't have to possess root privileges or risk to damage your system or affect another KDE. Something like this is an excellent idea in concept, but I suspect that tde-construct is littered with links pointing to old kde3 sources that does next to nothing now. If it can be fixed to work with TDE - it is worth keeping - if it doesn't do anything - it is just dead weight on the git tree. This bug should be read referencing bug 1944: R14 Broken Packages (minor apps) - future fix or delete? http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1944 1944 lists packages that currently build but are broken (or have sever limitation in function) That list currently includes: kasablanca kftpgrabber kmymoney If those are not going to be fixed, they can be considered here for deletion. Add dependencies/tqca as possible candidate for removal. Reason: AFAIK it is not needed for R14. ubuntu distro folder (see comment 2) has been clean up in commit 4538fd673 (In reply to David C. Rankin from comment #6) > This bug should be read referencing bug 1944: > > R14 Broken Packages (minor apps) - future fix or delete? > http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1944 > > 1944 lists packages that currently build but are broken (or have sever > limitation in function) That list currently includes: > > kasablanca > kftpgrabber > kmymoney > > If those are not going to be fixed, they can be considered here for deletion. Those applications need to be fixed, not removed! Please do not delete the debian/lenny directory as the autobuild system requires it to function correctly. Please also keep a log of all deleted directories of applications that are currently active in the autobuild system. Without corrections to that system upon deletion all autobuilds will stall. tqca was used in Konversation to enable OTR chat IIRC. Has this changed? tde-construct has been removed from current r14.x trunk in commit b461778. tde-construct removed (this time for good) in commits 242be7e3 (R14.1) and 04a72d17 (R14.0) mlt and mlt++ removed in commits 77e233a1 (R14.1) and 2e02a442 (R14.0) mlt amd mlt++ removed from tde-packaging in commit 1ea97c304 (R14.1) and 8cc0c66cb (R1.0). |
