Can confirm that for 3.5.12, Debian Squeeze, i386. Konqueror falls back to Icon View if you open new tab or change kio mode (view text, image, or browse media:// etc) and goback to file mode. So last choosen view mode for file view is not saved. There is no default view mode in Konqueror so for users who prefer view mode other than Icon View this bug is very annoying, so I propose it for PaperCut bugs: http://trinity.pearsoncomputing.net/wiki/bin/view/Developers/PaperCut I googled this problem, it is very popular, there is workaround (change Inode settings in ): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/69168 Related KDE bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108542 I googled this problem, it is very popular, there is a workaround (change Inode settings in Settings/Config Konq/File Associations, LOL :), comment #5 and below): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/69168 Related KDE bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108542 Is this report still valid? I agree that changing the inode file association is not intuitive, yet I don't consider that solution a "work-around." To me that _is_ the solution. I have used Tree View for many years. I long ago set that as my default embedded view and never had a problem reverting to Icon View. The solution is a configuration issue. Closing due to lack of response and age. |
