By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Bug 201

Summary: Konqueror reverts to "Icon View"
Product: TDE Reporter: osman3535
Component: tdebaseAssignee: Timothy Pearson <kb9vqf>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: normal CC: bugwatch, darrella, sin
Priority: P5
Version: 3.5.12 [Trinity]
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Compiler Version: 4:3.5.12-0ubuntu6+r1124757+rebuild1 (lucid) TDE Version String: 3.5.11
Application Version: 3.5.10 Application Name: Konqueror

Description osman3535 2010-05-20 07:01:47 CDT
In Konqueror load "File Management" View Profile, select "Detailed List View" form View->View Mode. Right click a text file and select "Preview in Embedded Advanced Text Editor" then click a folder in the navigation panel. Konqueror reverts to Icon View mode which is extremely annoying and recently useless (see bug #200).

This bug has been present in Kubuntu for as long as I can remember (Feisty Fawn?) I was happy to see it corrected in Debian Lenny. It was one of the reasons I have been using Lenny.

Can confirm that for 3.5.12, Debian Squeeze, i386.

Konqueror falls back to Icon View if you open new tab or change kio mode (view text, image, or browse media:// etc) and goback to file mode. So last choosen view mode for file view is not saved.

There is no default view mode in Konqueror so for users who prefer view mode other than Icon View this bug is very annoying, so I propose it for PaperCut bugs:

Is this report still valid?

I agree that changing the inode file association is not intuitive, yet I don't consider that solution a "work-around." To me that _is_ the solution.

I have used Tree View for many years. I long ago set that as my default embedded view and never had a problem reverting to Icon View.

The solution is a configuration issue. Closing due to lack of response and age.
