By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Bug 206

Summary: kde-guidance-kde3 Installation error affects System Settings, KControl etc.
Product: TDE Reporter: bugzilla
Component: tdeadminAssignee: Timothy Pearson <kb9vqf>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: normal CC: bugwatch, darrella
Priority: P3
Version: 3.5.11 [Trinity]
Hardware: amd64
OS: Other
Compiler Version: TDE Version String: Linux kubeartung 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:28:05 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Application Version: 4:3.5.12-0ubuntu6+r1106825+rebuild1 Application Name: kde-guidance-kde3

Description bugzilla 2010-05-22 12:17:58 CDT
System: Kubuntu 10.04 "Trinity" 64-bit (Intel), a fresh installation.

Running System Settings | User Management returns an error: "The module User Management could not be loaded". The module is in opt/kde3 but it consists of a bad link:

$ ls /opt/kde3/bin/userconfig -l
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 57 2010-05-22 09:09 /opt/kde3/bin/userconfig -> /usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance-kde3/userconfig.py

It should point to "/opt/kde3/share..." instead of to "/usr/share...".

I've only verified the first but I think it applies to all of these:

 o userconfig - User and Group administration
 o  serviceconfig - Service/daemon administration
 o mountconfig - Disk and filesystem administration
 o displayconfig - Screen and display configuration
 o  wineconfig - Wine configuration
Comment 1 Timothy Pearson 2010-10-01 12:23:39 CDT
This old issue should be resolved in later versions of KDE3/Trinity.

If it still exists in 3.5.12 or greater, please reopen this bug.

Thanks for reporting!
