Hi Alex, on my system I don't have any problem with the side image when using the Trinity Classic menu: I can switch it on and off with the check box. Which type of menu are use using? Could you upload the new picture as well? I would like to take a look. The existing one looks a little "from the past", so a refresh would be great. Created attachment 2085 [details]

Hi, I use the classic menu. But the check box just doesn't react to this option. When I change the option and click on ''Apply'', all of the taskbar reloads, but the picture is still not there. It worked well on PCLinuxOS with TDE 3.5.13.2 I wouldn't be surprised to have another ''Ubuntu-specific'' trouble. -Alexandre > It worked well on PCLinuxOS with TDE 3.5.13.2

Picture looks great! I will add to R14.0.0.
Regarding the problem, would be nice to see if any other ubuntu users can reproduce it.
Have you tried using a different/new user profile or rebooting the computer as a double-check (even though on my system this is not required, after clicking 'apply' everything changes ok)?
Hi, Thank you for the picture! Yes, I tried to create a new user to test it and it still doesn't work for me on 13.10. Anyway, I'll format this setup soon to install 14.04 and TDE R14. Also, on Ubuntu, TDE comes with a kind-of ''Kubuntu'' appearance. When the brand new session is started for the first time, KPersonalizer put it back to vanilla plain TDE. The only way to avoid this trouble would be: 1. Clicking on Cancel in KPersonalizer 2. Changing KPersonalizer default setup on Ubuntu to match the default settings. Also, why does Ubuntu has this and the other distros has plain vanilla TDE? -Alexandre Hi, I just wiped my computer to install Ubuntu 14.04 with the latest TDE R14 nightly build, and the side picture of the TDE menu still doesn't work. Alex, I tried the new sidebar picture on my computer, but the result is not that good on tall menus (see attached example).
You need to update also the file kside_tile.png to match kside.png.
If you can upload both updated files, that we can look at pushing them to GIT for v14.0.0.

Strange that it works for you! I worked too in 3.5.13.2 on PCLinuxOS. By the way, 3.5.13.2 was a great release! High quality! Is there a way I can provide debug info, because for me it doesn't work both on Ubuntu 13.10 an 14.04. -Alexandre Alex, I would like to push the picture for sample 8. Alex, is this bug now resolved? Bug 2005 is already open for the checkbox not working. Can we mark it as duplicate of such bug? |
