By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Bug 2230

Summary: kdesktop_lock wakes screen when screen sleeps

Description Kristopher 2014-12-02 10:01:08 CST
When the screen goes to sleep, kdesktop_lock activates and wakes the screen by displaying the lock screen. The screen is allowed to sleep *after* the lock screen displays when the screen-sleep timer re-cycles.

It's not objectional to have the lock screen displayed as this is how I have it set, however kdesktop_lock should not wake the screen by itself.

So far kdesktop_lock does not appear to interfere with screensaver activation.

Interesting; I haven't seen this before but then again I haven't tested much outside my "typical" screen locker settings.

Did this bug exist in the nightlies before RC1 release?

Can you post your exact screen locker settings (the contents of ~/.trinity/share/config/kdesktoprc under the [ScreenSaver] section)?

Thanks!

Something similar to this existed awhile back in both the nightlies and in 3.5.13.2, except back then it would also deactivate the screen saver within a few seconds after the screen saver activated in addition to waking the screen after the screen went to sleep. That disappeared for some time, until today when I saw my screen go to sleep while displaying my desktop only to wake up with the lock screen.

Below is the configuration lines you requested. It should be noted that UseTDESAK should be set to false (*not* true) since I've disabled SAK, and the lock screen does *not* ask for CTRL+ALT+DEL (nor should it since I've disabled it). This could be a potential bug to look at.

[ScreenSaver]
DelaySaverStart=true
Enabled=true
HideActiveWindowsFromSaver=true
HideCancelButton=true
Lock=true
LockGrace=30000
Saver=fireflies.desktop
Timeout=300
UseTDESAK=true
UseUnmanagedLockWindows=false

This might be related to Bug 2222

Now that Bug 2222 has been fixed can you please verify that this issue still exists?

Thanks!

There has been several fixes in kdesktop/kdesktop/lock code in R14.0.x releases.
Is this bug still valide?
