They launch two different commands: - k3b %U - k3b --image %U but they seems to do exactly the same thing when tested on an .iso image: they both open the burning dialog. It seems safe to remove the 'k3b-iso.desktop' file without loss of functionality and reduce menu cluttering. The patch looks good. Darrell, you can either push it yourself or provide a "Signed-off-by" clause here and then I can push it. Patch pushed in commit 17800ee3. New functionalities and meaningful changes to GUI (i.e. changes to what the user can/can't do) should not be integrated in R14.0.x, only in R14.1.x. So we do not need to push the change to R14.0.x and we can close the bug.

Created attachment 2433 [details] Patch to remove redundant k3b-iso.desktop In applications/k3b/src/ there are two desktop files: k3b.desktop k3b-iso.desktop Installing both desktop files creates two 'K3b' menu entries in the konqueror 'Open With' menu. As k3b.desktop contains the same Mimetypes as k3b-iso.desktop, the latter is redundant. To reduce redundancy and menu confusion, delete k3b-iso.desktop.
