Good! I think that a good solution would be to add a page to KPersonalizer where the icon theme could be choosen, with a nice little picture for each one. (I am ready to make these, just ask for it) Maybe also making sure that all widget styles appear in the KPersonalizer list too?

Let's proceed in this order:
1) add the new theme to TDE
2) add the new page to KPersonalizer

Also let's rename KPersonalizer to TDEPersonalizer.

I had a look at the icon theme. The stated license is as follow:

"Icons are licensed under the Creative Commons License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
Some parts of this work is under GPL-3.0+ License".

As far as I can google it, CC BY-SA 4.0 is one-way compatible with GPL 3.0, but I have found no mention about CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 and GPL 3.0 compatibility.
-NC- stands for Non-Commercial and should therefore not be a problem with GPL 3.0, but unless there is a clear indication that CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 is GPL 3.0, we can not usd the theme in TDE.

As pointed out in the ML (http://trinity-devel.pearsoncomputing.net/?0::14640), CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 is not GPL 3.0 compatible, so we can not use the proposed theme in TDE.

By browsing kde-look.org, I saw that the new version of Masalla icon theme 08 is now GPL 3 compatible. It means that it could now be used in TDE.

I did nothing about it. I didn't even asked the author; it just happened!

Alex, I am looking at this right now (finally).
Masalla icons look quite good and I already agree with Slavek that we will add this to TDE.
Anyhow there is some graphical rework necessary before we can add this icon set, specifically we need to modify KDE into TDE in all icons that are currently KDE related. For example the main menu "start" button shows "KDE" and we need the equivalent that shows "TDE".

Are you willing to take care of this conversion and send us the modified icons where required? Then we can add this icon set.

No, for previously said reasons. I am now using Plasma 5 successfully on most of my systems, and TDE's userbase attitude does give me no good reasons anymore to use this software set, or to produce any TDE related stuff.

This icon theme is under active development, which means that is would have to be re-adapted at each releases. I do not think that it is that important to adapt it.

I wanted to share with you the folder containing most of the artwork I did for TDE, as it may get lost in history. Some are unpublished, some not accepted and some are not 100% finished, but maybe someone could be interested in it:

By the way, it looks like I have found someone willing to work on the kde->tde renaming, so sooner or later Masalla will be added to TDE ;-)

No problems! But it is not useful at all to change icons, because most are already not containing K, and it is a project under active development, so it means way too much maintenance for TDE. And it is not ugly enough to be accepted as part of tde :) :) :)

I haven't made a list of how many icons need renaming yet, but at least the main menu icon needs to be done because at the moment it shows a nice 'KDE' one :-)

I think I know what u really mean here :-) It is sad you decided not to contribute more work to TDE any more because of some user feedback.
IMO you did a great job over the years and really hope you could reconsider your decision one day :-)
Anyhow good luck for whatever you will work on in the future, even if not TDE  ;-)

icon detection bug

Hi,

This is a bug, because here is a screenshot of masalla on kde4 on PCLinuxOS. No settings has been changed at all, except the icon theme changed to the actual version of masalla (find it on kde-look). I also use it on Kubuntu 15.10 with Plasma 5, when flaky .deb package management don't decide to render my system unbootable.
