compton-tde is the "trinity window composition manager" it seams it's active by default... you can deactivate it in: trinity control center > Desktop > window behavior > translucency So... i think by default this should be deactivated, until twin behaves properly when replaced. To clarify. This is a general bug. twin doesn't properly respect --replace from other window managers. compton-tde remains as a process and the user is left with no WM. This happens with compositing enabled (the default config). This also means, that compiz, is broken out of the box in trinity. This looks too much like a hack.... To have twin spawn an other process seams bug prone. At the very least, the default configuration of trinity should not be with compositing. And also have a warning in the control center if the user tries to activate compositing. I'm proposing this change for R14.0.6 .This requires less work then a proper fix. possible real solution for R14.1 is to properly merge them in a single process. (and add back compositing as the default) Keep it in R14.1.0 bug list. |
