Description Q4OS Team 2017-10-23 04:35:22 CDT

Installation of "rtkit" in combination with "pulseaudio" packages from the regular Debian repositories totally break Trinity audio system and make cpu permanent overload. Tested on a real hardware as well as in Virtualbox.

Exact steps to reproduce:
- Fresh TDE preliminary stable (14.0.5) installation on Debian Stretch.
- Install pulseaudio and rtkit packages, "sudo apt-get install pulseaudio rtkit".
- Reboot.
- bug: run "artsshell status" in terminal, got stuck.
- bug: watch cpu load by "htop", it's permanently at 100%.

I have rtkit and pulseaudio installed and don't have problems (bullseye, TDE R14.1.0-dev).
Perhaps the problem is specific to Stretch, which has a number of bugs filed against arts that were only happening in Stretch.

@Q4OS: is still happening on your side?

Yes, sometimes it happens on Debian Buster, however much less often than on Stretch. Sometimes system gets stuck and only reboot helps. Unfortunately, unlike Debian Stretch, I can't reproduce it regularly.
