By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Paul 2018-05-06 13:17:16 CDT
When I just updated my X Session abruptly ended. Of course I had files open I was editing so that was lost. Then when I rebooted my Display Manager failed to start. Finally when I was able to create a new X Session at the console with the startx command my screen configuration was borked. So yeah it was a trifecta of problems that I have discovered so far. But the day is young, so who knows what other surprises are in store for me?

You've just earned yourself a comment out of my sources.list file.

$ aptitude show tde-core-trinity

What apt sources for Trinity did you use? For Debian 9.x (Stretch), it is currently necessary to use Preliniary Stable Builds repository - see:

The line from my sources.list file was as follows:

deb-src http://mirror.xcer.cz/trinity-sb stretch deps-r14 main-r14

I have since setup a new system but I happen to have that file saved.
Presently I do not have TDE installed and I am not using it.

Only "deb-src" and not "deb"?

You do not need "deb-src" unless you want to download source packages. On the contrary, you need "deb" if you want to install binary packages.

aww FFS I pasted the wrong line. Of course I had both. Use your head. I mean I was running the shit. Like duh. So put 2 and 2 together occasionally.

I think Slavek made some fixes for this issue some weeks ago. Is it still valid?

I can no longer say. I am using a new system and do not have TDE installed presently.

Ok, thanks for the feedback anyway.

Since the problem has probably been fixed (I was seen the same issue if I was updating from within TDE and now it no longer happen) and you no longer use TDE, I am marking the bug as resolved.
Feel free to reopen it if you ever come back to TDE and experience the same issue again (which should not happen from R14.0.5 onwards)
