What apt sources for Trinity did you use? For Debian 9.x (Stretch), it is currently necessary to use Preliniary Stable Builds repository - see: https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/Debian_Trinity_Repository_Installation_Instructions https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/Preliminary_Stable_Builds The line from my sources.list file was as follows: deb-src http://mirror.xcer.cz/trinity-sb stretch deps-r14 main-r14 I have since setup a new system but I happen to have that file saved. Presently I do not have TDE installed and I am not using it. Only "deb-src" and not "deb"? You do not need "deb-src" unless you want to download source packages. On the contrary, you need "deb" if you want to install binary packages. aww FFS I pasted the wrong line. Of course I had both. Use your head. I mean I was running the shit. Like duh. So put 2 and 2 together occasionally. I think Slavek made some fixes for this issue some weeks ago. Is it still valid? Ok, thanks for the feedback anyway.
Since the problem has probably been fixed (I was seen the same issue if I was updating from within TDE and now it no longer happen) and you no longer use TDE, I am marking the bug as resolved.
Feel free to reopen it if you ever come back to TDE and experience the same issue again (which should not happen from R14.0.5 onwards)
