I may be wrong, but as far as I know kmix should display the same channels as alsamixer. Can you post separate screenshots of only the playback channels and output channels? In my system, master channels are only shown on the output tab. Also please check the full name of the channel in alsamixer: for example on my system I have "master" and "master mono" and when selecting the second one, alsamixed shows the complete name at the top part of the window. Here is a picture of both playback and record channels in KMix: http://oscomp.hu/depot/kmix_both.png The full name of Master in ALSAMixer is "Master". The command amixer -q set 'Master' playback 1+ works, so it's "Master". ok, thanks for the feedback.
