* Open a document in kate. * "Right-click" anywhere on the text. * Notice the separator at the bottom. With that said, I notice with some nominal testing that when the user has plugins enabled the bottom separator does not show. Only when there are no plugins disabled. You'll have to temporarily disable all plugins to notice the dangling separator. -Darrell I can't get any context menu to appear in Kate. Right-click doesn't seem to be doing anything. Any idea? (In reply to comment #2) > I can't get any context menu to appear in Kate. > Right-click doesn't seem to be doing anything. > Any idea? No idea why I didn't have any right click menu before. Now it is ok. Anyhow I do not see any separator at the bottom. Is this bug still valid? As additional info, whether plugins are enabled or disabled didn't make any difference. I do not have any separator at the end >I can't get any context menu to appear in Kate. Right-click doesn't seem to be

Short response. Yes, I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember the cause. The absence of the context menu is real. I will post again when my memory is less fuzzy.
I remember now. The cause was a corrupt toolbar rc file. The toolbar configuration is saved in $TDEHOME/share/apps/katepart/kateui.rc. Try restoring the toolbar to the default and see whether the context menu starts behaving. Weird bug. I did not report because I thought the problem was me. Now I wonder. Anyway, yes, the bug report remains valid. I have two separator bars at the bottom of the context menu. > Anyway, yes, the bug report remains valid. I have two separator bars at the

Darrell, can you attach an image of your right click menu? I would like to compare with mine. Later I can post an image of mine as well (not on TDE now)

Image of context menu, different kcontrol styles
The attached file contains two snapshots of the kate context menu. The first image on the left is with the default Trinity style in a default profile. The bottom double line is a challenge to see but is there. The double line becomes more noticeable with the KDE Classic style, as seen in the second image on the right.

Interesting. I have one more item in the menu, right at the bottom.
>Interesting. I have one more item in the menu, right at the bottom.
I do not have any plugins enabled. Do you?
Perhaps the double line is related to the (incorrect) anticipation of plugins being enabled.

Do you? > > Perhaps the double line is related to the (incorrect) anticipation of plugins > being enabled. I tried with plugins enabled and disabled, no difference. For the record, the last menu "Data tools" is empty, if selected it opens a submenu which says "not available" Look in kate Settings, at the bottom of the left pane. There will be a configuration option named Plugins. In that section is a plugin named KDataTool. When I enable that plugin I see the same menu item at the bottom of the context menu. I hadn't notice the editor plugins :( I confirm: disabling the KDataTool I also have the additional line at the bottom of the menu, as in your screenshot The View menu in the menu bar has the same extra line at the bottom. |
