I just can't understand how part of my text disappeared from the comments. Here is the complete version: I upgraded my Ubuntu machine to Maverick recently and now I can no longer use the PrintScreen key as a shortcut. I used to have it configured to launch ksnapshot. There should be two ways to achieve that: 1) Open Control Center > Regional & Accessibility > Keyboard Shortcuts > Command Shortcuts tab, select Graphics in the menu, select KSnapshot, then configure the PrintScreen key as the shortcut. 2) Open Control Center > Regional & Accessibility > Input Actions, create a new action, General tab, Action type: Keyboard shortcut -> Command/URL (simple), type in whatever name desired, configure the PrintScreen key as the shortcut, type in /opt/kde3/bin/ksnapshot in the Command/URL to execute field. None of these is working, ksnapshot does not launch. The problem is in the PrintScreen key. Other key combinations will work, e.g. Ctrl+h or Alt+F9. Confirmed again. Still in R14 dev on 4/18/12. Confirmed in GIT (2013-05-22). The PrintScreen key will work when assigned to ksnapshot, but I noticed the key has to be pressed twice before ksnapshot opens. |
