By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

/opt/kde3/bin/kdm, from kdm-kde3, both before and after the current upgrades - up to 2009 March 19 - before logging in, kill the X server and the X server will restart automatically. But login and logout - the X server dies, and kdm fails to restart the X server, leaving a blank screen. I haven't tracked down the source of this problem, but it's an annoyance.

Still, "/etc/init.d/kdm-kde3 restart" will restart the X server, and restore the login screen.

Also, coincidentally, on logout, the returning virtual terminal character display is garbled, but is restored by a vt switch and switch back. This would likely be a different problem.

Seems to be a problem with the new Xorg and nVidia/ATI drivers.

There is a similar bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/181343

Does this also occur under KDE4 with your computer? If so, please file a Launchpad bug so that this can be fixed...

I have determined that this bug is actually a bug with various Xorg drivers, not with KDM itself, so I am closing this bug as WONTFIX (actually should be CANTFIX ;-))
