By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2011-11-20 15:17:19 CST
As the TDE team wants to move away from the shadow of KDE, change the Help description snippet in all apps to something else.

As is:

===========================
The Trinity Desktop Environment is a fork of the K Desktop Environment version 3.5, which was originally written by the KDE Team, a world-wide network of software engineers committed to Free Software development.
===========================

Change to (for example):

===========================
The Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) is written and maintained by the TDE Team, a network of software engineers committed to Free Software development and the traditional desktop computing style.
===========================

"is written by the TDE Team":
Let some credits to the KDE Team. They did it.

Ok, but let's revise. We want to avoid the word fork. The word fork often is interpreted by many to mean there was some sort of dispute or conflict involved. That was not the case. We have seen that some in the KDE community dislike the word.

Perhaps try something like this:

===========================

The Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) continues the traditional desktop computing style and is a renovation of the K Desktop Environment version 3.5, originally written by the KDE Team, a world-wide network of software engineers committed to Free Software development.

While I understand the rationale to some extent, there *was* a dispute and conflict involved. It was just a bit more polite than normal--upstream KDE wanted to kill off the 3.5 series completely and I had to fight hard to create this fork. I was told in no uncertain terms that the upstream KDE project would never release a new 3.5.x version, even if a community was built to maintain and enhance it.

Therefore, I consider TDE to be a true fork in every sense of the word.

Okay. I was unaware there was contention. Your call whether to make any changes. :)
