Created attachment 247 [details] Update the default feeds Patch to update the default feeds to the following: LXer Linux News (http://lxer.com/module/newswire/headlines.rss) Tuxmachines (http://www.tuxmachines.org/node/feed) lwn.net (http://lwn.net/headlines/rss) H-Online (http://www.h-online.com/grand-atom.xml) The patch changes the feed category/heading from "KDE" to "Free/Libre Software News." I have updated the RSS feed to point to TDE's news channel in GIT hash d409ae59. Should these other feeds be included as well? Created attachment 249 [details]
Updated patch for latest git
We have a news feed? I missed that memo.... :) Nonetheless, cool!
Per the limited discussion in the mailing list, I proposed those four sites as more current and relative feeds than the ones currently hard-coded in the sources. (I see in git you deleted the old feeds.) Nobody responded in any negative manner, hence my first patch.
I merged my changes with the latest git. New patch attached.
I haven't built tdepim and tested, but the patch looks sane to me. :)
I took the liberty of changing the "ak" designator to "tde." Looks more "appropriate" to anybody who looks at the code. ;)

Updated patch for latest git.
Oops. Next time don't submit a patch without testing. Shame on me. :)
Attached is an updated patch for git.
I named the main folder "Free/Libre Software News." The TDE feed is the first one under the new folder.
Another option would have been to create two folders, say, firstFolder and secondFolder, with TDE being firstFolder and Free/Libre Software News being secondFolder. I won't be upset if you want to do that. :)
I deleted the previous obsolete patches.
No problem, and thanks for updating the patches! :) I had looked around for this bug report before updating the code in GIT, but could not find it that day for whatever reason. I didn't want to ship outdated RSS feeds yet again, so I pushed in the update anyway. I silently rolled out the RSS feature, so you didn't miss any memos. :) Committed to GIT in hash 156eeed. Thanks for reporting, and for the (updated) patch! |
