By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description linux 2011-12-27 07:18:09 CST
Since Trinity 3.5.13, I'm not able to send any e-mail from KMail. Seems that Slackware packages are not built properly.

The error message says:

Sending failed:
Authorization failed, Authentication support is not compiled into kio_smtp. authentication not supported

Confirmed. I received the same error dialog.

Looks like -DWITH_SASL needs to be added to the build options. I rebuilt the package with that option and the errors disappeared. I could send emails thereafter.

The mirrors are down temporarily. I can't update the package until the mirrors are restored.

If you can build the package yourself, add the -DWITH_SASL build option and all will be fine.

Tim, if uploading a new package is required to mark this bug resolved, then let me know. Otherwise this bug is resolved. :)

BTW, -DWITH_SASL defaults to OFF in CMakeLists.txt. Is that a good idea?

Thanks for such a quick response.
Unfortunately, I can't rebuild the package myself here and have to wait until the mirror is up again.

This bug is fixed in my latest packages. At least one other Slackware user should test and confirm the repairs before closing this bug report.

All of my 3.5.13 packages have been rebuilt. I recommend updating all packages and not just kdepim.

While the Trinity mirror problem is being resolved, I am hosting my 13.1 packages at my web site:

http://humanreadable.nfshost.com/sdeg/trinity_desktop.htm

I'm uploading now (late PM the 13th) and the files should be available by morning the 14th.

Thanks, it works fine now!
