By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Kris 2012-01-28 16:59:06 CST
I decided to send an encrypted email to myself just to test if it works. When I try to open it, it starts an endless loop of opening the dialog to ask for my passphrase -- it opens them so quickly that I can't interrupt it with click close or ALT+F4, nor will anything else respond (ALT+Tab, Kicker's taskbar, etc. don't work, only the arrow will move).

The only way to stop it and regain control of the GUI is to hit CTRL+ALT+F1, logging in as root, then killing kdm/Xorg and restarting kdm, at which point I can log back in to TDE as my normal user and resume whatever I was doing.

I was able to confirm this issue by trying it two more times (for a total of three, including the first try).

When I log in to my email via web browser, I see my encrypted message. I can't un-encrypt it since Gmail doesn't have built in support for GPG/OpenPGP, so all I can see is a long RSA-key looking string. The message was probably sent correctly, but short of configuring another mail client, I can't confirm it.

After further testing, I managed to get it working, but not with Kmail's passphrase box. I opened my gpg.conf file and added the "use-agent" line, then edited gpg-agent.conf to use pinentry-qt (Debians Qt3 version of pinentry). After logging out and back in, I tried to open the encrypted email, and I get pinentry's passphrase dialog instead of Kmail's, which worked fine. I also tried it with pinentry-x11, which also works fine. I haven't tried it with pinentry-qt4 or pinentry-gtk.

I able to dual boot with another distro to test it (I hate flash drives!), so if someone using another (non-Debian) distro and post their results, that would probably help spot the problem.

Is this problem still valid?

Definitely yes. I am still spammed by passphrase dialogs every time I attempt to open an encrypted email.
