Capture of the error pop-up.
Demonstration of correct operation |

This on Fedora 16, where I am trying to use Trinity to provide KWrite, Konsole, KOrganizer, and Kmail under XFCE as I used to with the original KDE3. Created attachment 407 [details]
Demonstration of correct operation
I am completely uncertain what has happened here, but since yesterday - and without any change to the environment that I can think of other than being a different login session - the dialogue now works. |
Created attachment 402 [details] Capture of the error pop-up. Formerly it was possible to run KDE apps in other windowing environments (such as Gnome and in this case XFCE). The current Trinity version of kwrite can no longer select or display file lists the file dialogue, complaining with a pop-up: Error - KWrite Cannot talk to klauncher Whilst trying to save a screen shot, I discovered that this is - as one might expect - a generic fault with the file dialogue mechanism, rather than application specific to KWrite.
