I don't have that little arrow and those options, provided I am looking at the right place (TDE menu -> Logout -> Shutdown dialog appears) and I have tested with a root account, so no privileges missing. Is this still valid? In kcontrol session manager, 'Confirm logout' and 'Offer shutdown options' must be enabled. I don't know how the dialog responds when GRUB 2 is installed rather than GRUB 1. I have GRUB 1 installed. I still have the little arrow in the Restart button. Selecting the Restart button requires carefully pressing AND holding the mouse button to view the options. The options are still there on my system. As mentioned in the original report and the referenced mail list discussion, the list of options seems inappropriate because of the necessary administrative permissions. Further, I doubt lilo is supported and my wild guess is GRUB 2 is not supported, although I have no way of testing. Created attachment 1983 [details] shutdown dialog (In reply to Darrell from comment #2) > In kcontrol session manager, 'Confirm logout' and 'Offer shutdown options' > must be enabled. > have GRUB 1 installed Interesting. I have the same options enabled and also use grub 1 (far better than grub 2 IMO), but I don't have that arrow (see screenshot). I wonder if there is a config option somewhere that causes the difference in behavior. |
