By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Vanessa Ezekowitz 2009-05-24 16:11:54 CDT
The subject pretty much says it all - GTK applications (GIMP and Xchat especially) generate sound effects here and there, such as clicking on a button or closing a window, and there seems to be no way at all to disable them while running KDE3. Sound effects generated by KDE3 applications behave normally. Under Hardy, sound effects either didn't work or were disabled by default, which was fine for our particular needs.

This sounds like a default settings change in GTK itself. Unfortunately, the only recourse would be to find the offending item in a GTK/Gnome configuration utility and turn it off.

I would conjecture that the same "bug" exists for XFCE and Fluxbox; if so, you could file a regular Launchpad bug about it.
