By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2012-06-17 15:42:28 CDT
In commit 32d597f9, an old Debian-specific patch was reversed that prevents building on some 64-bit systems. Further discussion in the developer's mail list revealed the old patch is needed on some systems because lib files are installed to $PREFIX/lib rather than $PREFIX/lib64.

Apparently not all distros support $PREFIX/lib64 with their 64-bit systems. A solution is needed to build on both types of systems.

I'm not a Python expert and I don't expect this bug to be fixed unless/until one comes along and offers to help. ;-)

I am bumping this to enhancement as I do not think this should block the R14 release. Distributions can deal with this themselves with patches as they have always done.

Hello, the commit 32d597f9 is mandatory to build on Mandriva 2011 x86_64, but I do not know why it is not required on other 64 bits distros like Mageia 2.

There's some magic in python and libtool :-)

I closing this bug, hopefully all distros are now aligned on lib64.
Please reopen it if you can replicate the problem and provide detailed info.
