By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description yehjj 2012-07-11 00:10:50 CDT
After upgrade from "trinity-kde-systemsettings-0.0svn20070312-2.fc16.opt.i686" to "trinity-systemsettings-0.0svn20070312-3.fc16.opt.i686", kbuildsycoca alwasys crash by hogging all system memory ( Physical memory + Swap memory ).

It always happens no matter triggered by TDE or through command line "kbuildsycoca". To avoid this happen, I remove package "trinity-systemsettings trinity-guidance trinity-guidance-backends python-trinity trinity-libpythonize0", then the problem fixed. So the issue seems caused by upgrading package "trinity-systemsettings".

Hello, there is a conflict between TDE and RHEL/Fedora for the file:
/etc/xdg/menus/system-settings.menu

So, I previously decided to keep the distro-provided one and ignore the TDE one. But as you see, it is causing kbuildsycoca failure.

For now, I will fix it by installing TDE's config file under /opt/trinity/etc/ instead of /etc , to avoid conflict. I confirm this is working again afterwards.

It will be fixed in trinity-systemsettings-0.0svn20070312-4.fc16.opt.i686.rpm .

Please add back file "/opt/trinity/etc/xdg/menus/system-settings.menu" also due to "trinity-systemsettings-0.0svn20070312-3.fc16.opt.i686" missing this too. Thanks!!

"trinity-systemsettings-0.0svn20070312-4.fc16.opt.i686" resolved the issue. Thank you very much !!
