By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Russell Brown 2012-08-02 05:28:36 CDT
Installed the nightly build on a CLI Kubuntu Precise Pangolin server and found that /etc/trinity/tdm/tdmdistrc contains multiple references to /etc/trinity/kdm/... shouldn't it be *tdm* ??

This obviously causes problems as /etc/trinity/kdm doesn't exist.

Also... tdmdistrc seems to get read in preference to tdmrc; which caused me great confusion when I was trying to turn on XDMCP - changes to tdmrc didn't have any effect if tdmdistrc exists.

The incorrect references to kdm were fixed in this tde-packaging commit:
http://git.trinitydesktop.org/cgit/tde-packaging/commit/?id=1935fb88e1db6859c5130b554114c59a7853fdf4

The idea behind the distrc file was that various distributions would no longer have to divert or delete the default tdmrc file when theming or default settings packages were installed. Would a note in the tdmrc file, warning that the tdmdistrc file will be preferentially read, help to clear the confusion?

Tim, no response from the original reporter. I'm not a Debian user and don't understand the issue completely. Should we close as WORKSFORME or do you want to add the comment in the default tdmrc file and then close as FIXED?
Comment 3 Russell Brown 2013-05-10 03:10:18 CDT
Sorry - missed Tim's comment first time around.

Given that the references to kdm have been sorted a comment in tmdrc would be sufficient to stop people getting confused so easily.

Put the comment in and mark as fixed.

Thanks.

Note added to default tdmrc file in GIT hash 8a865f7.

Thanks for reporting!
