By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description assoricks 2012-08-05 16:39:26 CDT
I tried to build tdelibs R14 from GIT using David C. Rankin's PKGBUILDs (http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/dt/tde/src/tde-pkgbuild-src.tar.gz) on my Arch Linux machine (x86_64), but it failed :

Shortened version of the build log : http://pastebin.com/LQFFjNy1

Arch' CUPS package : http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/cups/

kdelibs3 (3.5.10) has the same issue, according to Eric Belanger, kdelibs3 maintainer of Arch Linux: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/30942 (Scroll down to comment section)

.....
kdelibs3 doesn't build here but it's because of cups 1.6: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=304127
---------

Steps to reproduce : Install a fresh Arch Linux chroot/new system
Build Trinity according to David C. Rankin's "readme" : http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/dt/tde/src/README-building.txt

I think this issue can be encountered on Ubuntu 12.10 alpha/beta/whatever too, as it's also shipping CUPS 1.6.

Temporary fix : Use "-DWITH_CUPS=OFF" instead of "-DWITH_CUPS=ON" in the configure, but I guess this will disable any printing support.

PS : I hope this is the right severity level and I hope, that this bug report meets the guidelines. This is my second bug report, thus I apologize for any mistakes in advance.

This probably goes even deeper than the API change, and may end up requiring a full rewrite of portions of the kdeprint system. See http://lwn.net/Articles/485617/ concerning deprecation of ppds (!).

Thanks, Apple. Not.

This issue should be resolved as of GIT hash 9bc0d2c.

Please test and report back with any problems introduced!

I updated my GIT tree and tried again, but it fails too : http://pastebin.com/4Een2hEf

Strange, it works here.

Can you please attach the config.h file generated during build, along with a full build log including CMake configure output?

Thanks!

I'm sorry!

The scripts I used to create the tarballs moved them to the wrong directory and my last build was done with a tarball from 4th August. I'm really sorry.. I'll try again.. I guess this time it'll work..
Comment 8 assoricks 2012-08-12 18:26:04 CDT
After using the right tarball I encounter build-errors at kstyle : http://pastebin.com/E2mediD8
I guess I'll have to rebuild all tde-dependencies first (this will take some time, sorry) , or is there a different solution / is this a new bug?
If you wish, I can upload config.h and the other files.

That would be related to the recent Qt 3.5.0 update; recompile/reinstall TQt3 and arts before rebuilding tdelibs.

Is the problem still valid?
