By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2012-09-13 23:06:32 CDT
At least two KControl modules change themselves merely by accessing the dialog:

Internet & Network -> Zeroconf Service Discovery
Sound & Multimedia -> CDDB Retrieval

No module should be self-changing. This is confusing to any user.

Hi Darrell,
can you provide more info? I have tried accessing the modules you mentioned using TDE Control Center and I do not see any self-changing behaviour.
Screenshots would be useful as well.

I don't have much time these days, but try the following:

* Open KControl.
* Select Sound & Multimedia -> CDDB Retrieval.
* Select any other module.

A dialog appears asking to save changes. I have no idea what changes in the dialog since I did not explicitly modify anything.

Tried as above, but no dialog came up.
To be honest, I seem to remember a similar behaviour in the past (perhaps early 2014), although I do not recall exactly on which module.
But in the last 6 months this has never shown up on my system, and I have gone through all TDEControl modules several times while fixing up some bugs.
Maybe the problem was fixed somehow by a past commit without us realizing it?

Darrell, if you also do not see the problem any more, I suggest we close the bug for the time being. We can always reopen it if the problem shows up again.

>if you also do not see the problem any more,
I posted the steps frorm yesterday. So yes, I still see the problem.

OK, then we leave the bug open. When I work on this I shall probably need your support for testing, given that I can not reproduce it on my system.

Appearance & Themes -> Fonts also modify settings by simply opening the module.
