By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Francois Andriot 2012-10-07 10:46:36 CDT
Hello, I've just built kgtk-qt3 3.5.13.1 for CentOS 6.
I had already used 3.5.13 version before with some problems on some applications. But I had no more problems than what is described on this bugtracker (some app incompatibility ...)

But now in 3.5.13.1, it is unusable:
I have the "/opt/trinity/share/kgtk/preload" file containing "/opt/trinity/lib/kgtk/libkgtk2.so", so that it can be read by the "startkde" script.
I'm unable to open the TDE session: dcopserver crash, kwin crash, any TDE program crashes, I'm logged out immediatly.
Simply removing the "preload" file allows me to log in normally.

Now if I manually open a konsole, export LD_PRELOAD=/opt/trinity/lib/kgtk/libkgtk2.so, any application run afterward on the terminal immediatly SEGV. I cannot even run GDB "any app" because gdb SEGV too ! After several tries the X server crashes also.

Very interesting! Exactly same behavior I observed with the original 3.5.13 kgtk-qt3. After updating and thereby changing from autotools to cmake on Debian / Ubuntu problem (mysteriously) disappeared.

kgtk-qt3 has many problems and is (AFAIK ?) abandoned. Closing bug report.

See Bug 1237 for a detailed explanation of why this package has been abandoned.
