By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Alex Couture 2013-04-28 20:13:47 CDT
It would be nice to include with TDE some ready-to-use widgets for superkaramba. It is pleasant and useful to have an analog clock and a calendar on the desktop, but as it is now, the user has to go on kde-look.org and try many widgets to find a)one that works as it should b)one that looks good

I can't program but if some persons here are interested in this idea, I can take some time to try some widgets of many kinds and then provide a list of superkaramba widgets.

Thanks!

Sounds promising. If you provide a list I'll look at massaging them for Trinity.

Ok, I'll look at it this weekend!
I guess 5-6 widget is enough, just to include some widgets with TDE.

A clock and a calendar on the desktop is always useful!

Hi all!

Here is the widget list I propose. They are all working on TDE 3.5.13.1 both on PCLOS and on FC17:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/113ku0foog4n/n/karamba_zip

3D Desktop Date: A calendar
Amarok_theme_2: A widget to control Amarok
Cynapses_karamba: A side-bar with many features
kclock: An analog clock
STH-Amarok-Black: A widget to control Amarok
Aero_aio: An all-in-one sysinfo widget

All of these widgets comes from kde-look.org
The buttons of widgets with buttons only works when their position is locked.
When right-clicking on some of these widgets, you can untick ''Use fast image scaling'' because the fast image scaling is ugly and not much faster... Maybe it could be set as a default setting.

Thank you!

Would you please provide links for each widget web page? :-)

That they work in 3.5.13.1 is good news. I still need to look at the sources in case renaming adjustments are needed for R14.

Note: these additions are not an R14.0.0 priority. They might get included by then, or they might get included in a subsequent R14.X.0 release. :-)

Hi!
Yes, I understand that desktop widget are not the ''number 1'' priority!
However, they shouldn't be too hard to include with the next release.
I will include these widgets with the next release of my PCLinuxOS non-official remaster because the only difference for me is to copy these files in the SuperKaramba folder.

On the R14 nightlies, they are 100% working except for the ''3D Desktop Date'', where the date appear, but not the calendar beside it. It works well on 3.5.13.1 It's funny to see that most of these themes doesn't work on SuperKaramba for KDE 4.10 ...

Here are the URL:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/3D+Desktop+Date?content=96912
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Amarok+theme+?content=94809
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/SystemMon?content=20445
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/KClock?content=66205
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/STH+Amarok+Black?content=86917
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Aero+AIO?content=24626

Thanks!

By looking at SuperKaramba .theme files, I can see that they can be opened with Kate and they aren't binary files. Actually, SuperKaramba widget doesn't look super-hard to program.

Per developer mail list discussions, suggested approach is to create a superkaramba-extras module in GIT, then add suitable widgets to that module.

Both licensing and functionality must be verified before a widget is added to GIT.

Hi,

I should add that SuperKaramba for TDE has the following problem:
The widgets has to be loaded once to appear in the list of available widgets. It should be modified to be like all the other TDE apps, to have the possibility to put the widgets in the following directory: /opt/trinity/share/apps/superkaramba/themes/

Have a nice day!
