By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Phillip Reed 2008-12-18 08:49:25 CST
When I install kubuntu-desktop-kde3, it lists a number of other recommended packages. However, many of them have no installation candidates. Here's the output:

$ sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop-kde3
[ ... ]
Recommended packages:
  kde-guidance-kde3 digikamdesktop-effects-kde-kde3 gdebi-kde-kde3 kde-guidance-powermanager-kde3 kdebluetooth-kde3
  kio-umountwrapper-kde3 kipi-plugins-kde3 kmplayer-konq-plugins-kde3 ktorrent-kde3 kubuntu-docs-kde3 kubuntu-konqueror-shortcuts-kde3
  kvkbd-kde3 networkstatus openoffice.org-kde-kde3 skim strigi-applet system-config-printer-kde-kde3

Trying to install any of those (except for skim, which I'll mention momentarily) produces output errors like so:

$ sudo apt-get install  kio-umountwrapper-kde3
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package kio-umountwrapper-kde3 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package kio-umountwrapper-kde3 has no installation candidate

The package "skim" appears to actually exist, but it cannot be installed because it depends on kdelibs4c2a, which in turn depends on kdelibs-data, and installing kdelibs-data would remove all of the kde3 packages.
