By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Marcel Partap 2013-07-20 06:38:50 CDT
Hi,
got Debian jessie/sid here and testing/unstable has moved to sip-api-10.0 in the meantime which some central packages depend on (python-qt4 4.10.2-1, python-kde4 >=4.8.4-2+b1, calibre-bin 0.9.31+dfsg-1+b1). Ubuntu raring+ has sip-api at 9.2 btw.. Please check if python-qt3 could depend on either version of sip-api.

For the stable branch is currently not planned support for Jessie. The reason is exactly the number of changes expected in Jessie in the coming time.
Comment 2 Marcel Partap 2013-07-20 07:09:29 CDT
Well it doesn't need to "support" it - just not breaking it will be enough. By allowing sip-apis >8.2.
Comment 3 Slávek Banko 2013-07-20 08:29:15 CDT
It's not that simple. Dependence on the sip-api is determined when building the package. In order to dependence on sip-api-10.0, the package needs to build on Jessie => need to add support for Jessie.

Mhh ok. C0oking up a "sip-api-8.1" dummy package with equivs-build did let me install the package (kde-guidance-trinity) but it checked for the real api-version and my fraud was unveiled. No dice just changing the depends line in the python-qt3 control file, darn.

For now, I close this bug report.
