By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Konqueror crash backtrace

I have several findings relating to Konqueror crash observed during the tests the speed of logout - see bug 760:

Crash not relate to logging out, but with a usual closing Konqueror.

Crash not relate to tdeio-locate, but to the search toolbar (tdeaddons/searchbar).

The procedure for invoking crash:
1) Open Konqueror, for example on $HOME
2) Select Bookmarks / Add bookmark
3) Select Bookmarks => right-click on newly created bookmark => Open in new tab
4) Do not switch to the newly opened tab, but simple close Konqueror
5) Rejoice, the crash had just occurs :)

Any chance of getting a backtrace with tdelibs debug symbols installed? ;-)

I do not understand:

# aptitude search "~itdelibs"
i A tdelibs-data-trinity - core shared data for all TDE applications
i A tdelibs-trinity-dbg - debugging symbols for tdelibs
i A tdelibs4c2a-trinity - core libraries and binaries for all TDE applicati

You mean the debug symbols for tdeaddons?
Comment 3 Timothy Pearson 2013-08-01 14:43:48 CDT
Odd--the backtrace shows:
#6  0x00007f38138f6caa in TDEIconViewSearchLine::showItem(TQIconViewItem*) ()
   from /opt/trinity/lib/libtdeui.so.4

which indicates that the debug symbols for tdelibs are not installed. It night be a symbol mismatch I guess--you could try installing the tdeaddons debug symbols and see if it makes any difference I suppose.

I will need to fire up a development machine anyway to debug this, so if this is too much hassle forget about it. I was just looking to see if it might be a one-line fix somewhere. :-)

tdeaddons dbg does not help.
Both are installed from nighly-builds.
I can try to rebuild tdelibs on my local builder.

Konqueror crash backtrace (1)
Comment 6 Timothy Pearson 2013-08-03 15:57:46 CDT
This should be fixed in GIT hashes d2ab408 (qt3) and c37c87b (tqt3).

Thanks for reporting, and for the backtraces/reproduction instructions!
