By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Patch to support different meta keys

Some of us have a meta key that is more easily reachable than alt. (This is particularly common among Emacs users, but those of us with strange ergonomic keyboards are in this situation too.)

Darrell, not to take anything away from you... :)
Duplicate of bug 1026, which had the original patch attached but was not marked as PATCHAVAIL

No apologies necessary. All I care about is we make progress. :-)

I did not find the patch when I searched. I stumbled across the patch while researching bug 1655 comment 35.

I wonder whether there is a way to search the bugzilla for reports that have patch attachments but have not been tagged PATCHAVAIL?

I am not sure, but probably the only way is to go through the list of unresolved bugs and manually check if a patch is attached.
I checked the advance search options, but I couldn't find anyone for attached files.

I found a way, using the boolean options way down at the bottom of the search page. Unfortunately the search finds reports with obsolete patches too and I haven't found a way to exclude those reports.

In addition try clicking the "add another boolean chart" button, then on the new "line" select the 'Not (negate....)" checkbox and use "Attachment is obsolete". This should filter out all the bug that have outdated patches attached.
I am sure if that filters out bugs that have an updated patch replacing a previous one. You can check if bug 1701 is in the result or not
