By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2014-02-03 15:01:35 CST
Currently Trinity only supports the following default application definitions:

Email
Embedded Text Editor
Instant Messenger
Terminal Emulator
Web Browser

Oddly missing is defining the default file manager. Trinity offers two additional file managers in dolphin and krusader and there are many file manager alternatives outside of Trinity.

Now that Trinity supports alternate window managers, that option also should be available. The KControl->Window Decorations->Window Manager module allows defining the window manager but a more appropriate place for this module is the Default Applications/Component Chooser module.

Hi,

After updating my system, with the bug 1960 solved, I am stuck with Konqueror.

Dolphin is in my opinion not the best file manager for work, but it is the most intuitive one, requiring the smallest number of clicks to access your files. Plus it includes many features not always present in Konqueror for treating and converting files.

At least, the previous solution was good enough: Use Dolphin if it is installed, If it is not installed, use Konqueror.

I'd like if this one could be solved before the official R14 release.

Thank you!

Hi,

I want to re-active the attention to this irritating bug. Maybe some persons here do not like Dolphin, but it would really be important to give back the right to the users to use Dolphin as a default file manager if they want it. I am of those. The default behaviour on 3.5.13.2 was much more intelligent: If Dolphin is installed, it is the default file manager. If it is not installed, then it is Konqueror.

Actually it was already possible to choose the default file manager by changing the setting of mime type inode/directory in TCC -> TDE Components -> File Association.
A new module TCC -> TDE Components -> Default Applications -> File manager has been added to both R14.1 and R14.0 so highlight to the user where the setting is, making this option much more visible.
