By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Peter Donis 2014-02-06 17:00:40 CST
The chromium browser (Ubuntu package chromium-browser) pegs the cpu (as seen in the system monitor) on startup but does not display a window or give any other feedback, even when started in a console window; the only thing I can do is to kill the process, either from system monitor or with Ctrl-C if started in a console window. (In the console window no output is given.)

The first Chromium version that showed the problem was 30.0.1599.114. The latest version that was just pushed by Ubuntu is 32.0.1700.102, and the bug is still present.

I am running TDE 3.5.13.2 on Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit, kernel 3.2.0-58.

One further comment: this issue appears to be specific to TDE, I have Linux machines running other desktops on which Chromium runs normally.

Would you please run an strace and attach the file? Like this:

strace -o chromium-tde-strace.txt -tT chromium

Does not seem to be a TDE issue.
