By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Denis Prost 2014-03-23 15:26:19 CDT
the summary is self explaining.

- trying to preview, for example, "foo?.mp4" in konqueror with kaffeine-xine fails : konqueror shows an error box titled "xine message - konqueror" saying that it cannot find the URL file://<filepath>.

-removing the "?" in "foo?.mp4" solves the problem : the preview works.

Confirmed. I am using LANG=en_US. Same result with '/'.

it's at least also "#" that causes the same issue.
Probably they are other characters.

it's not just the embedded preview in konqueror, but in general, for example, in gwenview.

To be more precise.

for ? it complains that for file aaa?aaa.mp4
file aaa%253Faaa.mp4 doesn't exist

for # it complains that for file aaa#aaa.mp4
file aaa%2523aaa.mp4 doesn't exist

for % it complains that for file aaa%aaa.mp4
file aaa%25%2525aaa.mp4 doesn't exist

normal kaffeine works fine.

I don't think this bug report is still valid.

I successfully renamed (aaa%253Faaa.mp4, aaa%2523aaa.mp4, aaa%25%2525aaa.mp4) and played the "big buck bunny" movie with the xine-engine.

https://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies

This does happen with the gstreamer-engine though. @bug 2916

Names with % seems to be ok, but names with # or ? still have issues when previewing in Konqueror with kaffeine-xine
Comment 7 Michele Calgaro 2019-04-06 09:42:25 CDT
interestingly, file name a%a.mp4 works fine, but aa%aa.mp4 or aaa%aaa.mp4 fails.
