By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Darrell 2015-03-09 16:12:23 CDT
Thinkpad T400.

TDEPowersave provides no notification popups for low battery. I tested this in Slackware 14.1 and Fedora 21.

For comparison, the MATE applet provides popup notifications. From watching when the notifications occur, I am guessing this is hard-coded to the BIOS or OS in some way because notifications occur about the same time the laptop battery LED changes color from green to orange.

TDEPowersave notifications do function. Pulling/connecting the AC cable results in respective notification popups. In the notifications configuration dialog, the battery level options all are tagged to display a notification, just like AC cable notifications.

Further, the system tray icon provides no help when the battery is low, such as changing color from green to orange.

I configured the battery warnings to play sounds. No sounds were played when reaching low battery levels.

A quick look at applications/tdepowersave/src/tdepowersave.cpp indicates TDEPowersave should be at least changing icon background colors. When on battery there are two additional icons supported: laptopbatteryORANGE.png and laptopbatteryRED.png. The icons are installed.

Hello, on my laptop running Mageia 4 abd TDE R14, I get notification popups from tdepowersave.
E.g. I have a "warning" at 20% and the tdepowerave icons blinks with orange background.
Then I have an "alert" at 10% and tdepowersave icons blinks with red background.
I do not remember having set anything myself, I believe this is default behaviour.

Okay, that is a start. Thanks. I'll dig further.

Notificaton levels can be setup in the configuration page.
Anyway I noticed that when TDE is running in a Vbox VM, the adapter is always reported as connected, even when it is physically unplugged. Battery levels seems to be correct.

Notifications can be configured in the settings dialog and works fine.
Also battery status reporting is now working fine also inside a VM, thanks to changes made in tdelibs quite some time ago.
Closing the bug report.
