By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

screenshot of an HTML email as displayed in KMail with teh HTML turned off

Please, may HTML mail, that is not displayed as HTML, be displayed legibly.

I attach a screenshot of what it looks like now.

Developing and HTML are outside my comfort zone, so I am quoting from the developer (non-Trinity) who advised me to file this bug.

<quote>
html can quite easily be rendered as simple readable text.

I think the developer has gone for literal interpretation, rather than meet the actual requirement.

you should seek, that the kmail team add an option to display as readable plain text, rather than un-rendered raw html

and / or rendered html with an alternative stylesheet.
</quote>

I am still using 13.5.13.2, but am looking to update to 14, using Slávek's repository, in a few days time.

So could this be available for 14 please.

I put a lot of effort into trying to get only plain text or multipart-alternative emails, but it is a losing battle.

Thank you in advance.

I should have added that the reason for my request is that I can't read HTML. People use "pretty" colours and tiny "pretty" fonts, and the result from my point of view would make a nice picture, but conveys no information. The large, clear black and white text that I need (see the attachment, and imagine it blown up to the extent possible on a screen) is not decorative, and most people would find it ugly. So noone is going to send an HTML email looking like that!

This is not a thing for Lisi alone, but it's not the fault of kmail but of buggy mailclients sending mail without or mangled plaintext.

I've attached a simple filter ("filter to convert a single kmail mail into text") to convert a mail to readable html. It uses the debian packages "html2text" and "mpack".

Usage: cat <mailfile> | mbox_to_txt.sh

It would be "easy" to pipe the mail through that filter and display the output as the text message.

Sorry that sed statement in the attachement should be:
 sed -e 's#&[^&;]*dash;#-#g' -e 's#&[^&;]*quo;#"#g'
