By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Michele Calgaro 2016-01-22 08:03:14 CST
This was previously part of bug 2569.
Since R14.0.x does not officially support Debian stretch, I have separated this problem from bug 2569, since this is not a blocking issue for R14.0.x releases.

Requires support for new libapt-pkg-dev. Fix in libapt-front required.

Partial work has been done and adept can now be used. Nevertheless frequent crashes remains, so further work is required.

Hi Michele,
going through the whole branch of bugs is there a specific pattern in failure of adept?

No, it is a different issue.
The problem was introduced by changes made in the apt library used by adept. I already did some work and got adept to startup and display the package list and do some operations. Nevertheless there are frequent crashes, so more work is required.
I will come back to this bug again sooner or later, but if you want to take it on you are welcome :-)

you mean 2475
I am not sure if I can handle it by myself. I could learn something for sure, but it is not at the top of my priorities. My last post however there narrows the root cause. The challenge would be to find and handle it.
Comment 5 Michele Calgaro 2016-04-26 05:50:38 CDT
No problem, it is not a top priority, although for R14.1 we want to fix it properly :-)
Comment 6 Michele Calgaro 2016-05-03 04:18:55 CDT
Once fixed, also check if bug 2643 is gone
Comment 7 Michele Calgaro 2018-08-04 07:09:20 CDT
Adept will be dropped in R14.1.0. No more work will be done on adept.
Comment 8 Michele Calgaro 2018-08-19 08:31:57 CDT
Adept removed from R14.1 series in commits 4475eb35 and 8ff4b2f5.
Adept is still available for R14.0 series, but it is not built for recent distros.
Comment 9 Michele Calgaro 2018-08-19 09:06:32 CDT
Packaging info removed from R14.1 in commit a91399ec3.
