By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description wofgdkncxojef 2017-08-21 12:53:56 CDT
variety is a gtk applet for wallpaper slideshows.
With the applet, you can also launch the current
wallpaper in an image viewer, for example gwenview.

In TDE, the viewer fails to fork, and the thread of the applet get's stuck, until the viewer is closed. The problem is not the image viewer. In MATE and many other DE the viewer forks properly, even with gwenview of trinity.

(variety actually uses the default gtk image viewer)

ok, actually this was a bug in xdg-open.

I have MATE and trinity installed.
In a new trinity account, xdg-open will not fork and will use the image viewer of MATE, same behavior in variety. In my regular account, launching from konsole works correctly, but it still behaves in a broken way with variety.

actually a bug in variety when xdg-open uses generic method.
xdg-open is not supposed to fork, it's just the apps that it calls generally do.

the real underlying problem, is that xdg-open doesn't support trinity.
