By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description wofgdkncxojef 2017-09-20 10:34:37 CDT
actually, compiz is not dead.
People still support it.
It was readded in debian and ubuntu a few years ago.
In ubuntu 16.04, latest compiz is 0.9.12.2
compiz-trinity is 0.8.4

The compiz packages in the trinity repos should be dropped.
Instead, making sure that trinity works with modern compiz.
These packages confused me more then anything.

It actually already almost works out of the box (ubuntu 16.04).
It works right now, in my main account, but not in new users, i couldn't narrow down the cause. At first it didn't work in my main account either, but after a while of twicking and testing, i realized it started working. In the other users it complain that an other window manager is active and that it can't launch the decorator, compiz doesn't work at all here. Putting the user in the video group reduces the problem, i can at least move the borderless windows with some difficulty. I'll post here again if i ever narrow it down.

I found what was blocking compiz, it was something in twin.
Report and workaround here:
https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2839

So other then that, compiz-trinity should be dumped.
