By default, Bugzilla does not search the list of RESOLVED bugs.
You can force it to do so by putting the upper-case word ALL in front of your search query, e.g.: ALL tdelibs
We recommend searching for bugs this way, as you may discover that your bug has already been resolved and fixed in a later release.

Description Michele Calgaro 2018-08-01 22:16:42 CDT
Open any TDE application, choose Settings -> Configure Shortcuts. Select a void from the menu and try to set a new shortcut. A small dialog opens, to allow you to enter the new shortcut.
The dialog keeps losing/gaining focus, very very quickly, making it almost unusable. With some effort it is still possible to set the shortcut, but the focus stealing needs to be resolved.

I can confirm experiencing this in 3.5.13.2, as well. It's bad enough that it caused a hang once and I had to terminate kcontrol.

Wow. What distro are you using? just for reference

This was built on my Gentoo machine via my fork of the trinity overlay on github (to fix various build issues). Relevant toolchain parts would be these, I think:
sys-devel/gcc:            8.3.0-r1::gentoo
sys-libs/glibc:           2.29-r2::gentoo

(Incidentally, I also discovered 3.5.13.2 doesn't build against qt3 git, so this is with 3.3.8d.)

Thanks, that is good to know. So far I had seen the problem only on Debian Buster, so I was wondering if it was something related to a specific distro.

Regarding qt3, I don't build 3.5.13.2, but I just checked with Slavek (who does) and he says it can built successfully vs qt3. Perhaps you may want to chat with him on IRC to exchange some ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for TDE, still the best DE ever :D

I'm using Debian buster.
TDE R14.0.7.

$ uname -a
Linux <hostname> 4.19.0-8-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.98-1 (2020-01-26) x86_64 GNU/Linux

$ cat /etc/debian_version
10.3

Thanks for advance for fixing, because using a Linux distro without any personal shortcut is quite annoying.

Thanks in advance and keep the good work!

This bug has been fixed in commits 8ea3d4dd (tdelibs) and f0869718 (tqt3) in R14.1.0-dev. Those commits will be backported to R14.0.9 as soon as the window opens.
Comment 9 Michele Calgaro 2020-04-29 07:04:45 CDT
Backport done to R14.0.9.
